Ridley Signs National Letters of Intent
By: Tim Drown
All of TBAC staff wish to extend our congratulations to Beth on signing her National Letter of Intent with Stanford University.
According the to the Morning Sentinel, " Ridley was one of the top field hockey goalies in the state the last four years.
She will be attending Stanford University in California." The National Letter of Intent is a document under which the
student-athlete agrees to attend an NCAA college or university for at least one year, and the school agrees to provide financial aid.
In her interviews, she stated "It's kind of scary, because it's the end of recruiting, but it's exciting because it's the beginning of being
an official Stanford field hockey player." Beth selected Stanford because she "wanted good athletics and academics"
and Stanford is the best school that provides that combination. She plans on pursuing a double major in philosophy and psychology.
Beth was a four-year starter for the Messalonskee Eagels. As a senior, she helped the Eagles to the Eastern Class A quaterfinals
by posting a 1.40 goals-against average and 5 shutouts. She stopped 92% of the shots she faced this year.
Beth had 25 career shutouts and a 1.17 goals-against average. She was named to the Maine High School Field Hockey All-state team
and was a finalist for Miss Maine Field Hockey (an award to the top senior player in the state). Beth was also named a
regional All-American Field Hockey Player.
Congratulations to Beth, her Mom and Dad.
